Bar graph: population changes in large cities

The bar chart shows the populations of various world countries from 1950 until 2015. Overall, London and New York have the biggest population in 1950. However Lagos and Sao Paolo have the smallest populations in 1950.

Bombay and Tokyo will have the biggest populations, about 25 million in 2015. However from 1950 to 2015 London's population shows no dramatic increase or decrease just a very slow decline. In 1950 Tokyo was familiar to London about 5 million. Shanghai come third around 3 million. Mexico city, Cairo and Lagos has the smallest populations in 1950. Tokyo has increased to 25 million. Next comes Bombay and Mexico City, which increased to 16 million. Sao Paolo and New York have about 15 million.

The chart shows that only London shows a decline in population 1950-2015. New York shows a gradual rise. The growth in all the other cities has been dramatic.
